aRmAn, I think I found the culprit (had the same problem) and it’s related to the header.php file (obviously).
What happens is that for normal pages (i.e. that do not derive from the FAlbum Page Template, that is falbum.php) the $falbum global isn’t found (nor created) so is_album_page isn’t resolved (causing the error you pointed out).
What you need to do is either make FAlbum Page Template your default or remove the conditional if statement from the header.php file.
At least that’s the first thing I noticed, I might be totally wrong here since I’m a php newbie but taking out that conditional statement resolved that error.

About the error: 1 - Photoset not found
The plugin seems to look for (for example):
http://15augustus.nl/photos/album/schotlandphoto/img_1184It’s missing a slash, it should be:

It happens if I set Photo’s Per Page to 0. If it’s non-zero the link to the single image is OK.

Hi I really need some help, I’m trying to get my flickr photo’s to show in my wordpress site but I just can’t do it. I did when I had Wordpress version 1.5 but now I’ve upgraded to wordpress 2.0 and I just can’t get it to work.
What I want is to use a page template and add the code to include my images directly into the page, but I’m getting error after error messages and have given up so many times.
Can you help at all, pleasssssse

So I thought this was going to be a good problem.
Obviously I am not the only one who can’t get anything out of it because of all the errors. -
This just will not work for me when I try to set it up on the options page. It gives me two seperate errors saying there is “no such file or directory” in “/wordpress-falbum-plugin.php on line 112″.
Do you have any idea how I could resolve this?

I have tried several therms and I can not seem to get this thing to look good. How do I edit the style to fit other themes beside the default. Some themes do not work at all and some are off just a little.

I keep getting Fatal Error messages.

worked perfectly with my 1.5.x WP - fancy URLs etc.
Did not jive as well with WP 2.0. Fancy URLs didn’t work.

Note that if reserve rights over some of your images and have all the size links showing with your plugin (i.e. give freely of the other photos), people can now access the once hidden originals.

i like to ask you a question about propably simple thing.
when i’ d install FAlbum - 0.6.4 on my WP 2.1 i have the problem, that there is no gallery showed in my sidebar.
no errors occured
i do use the vSlider-theme.
i’ve got already a flickr-account, did all the necessary procedures.please, what kind of code i have to put into the sidebar-php? i didn’t find an advice about this code in the install-readme …
or, does the plugin put the code automatically there - i made a mistake while installing the plugin … don’t understand this … please help

Great work!
I have the plugin running but i have problems with special characters, like words with accent (ex: á,é,í,ó,ú) in the titles, buttons and description zone. U can see it at http://www.pdsxxi.com.ar/galeria.
In falbum gallery (wordpress) the special characters don´t want to work, but at Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/pdsxxi/) special characters work fine.
When i try to see the gallery in wordpress, all my template (that runs in utp-8) seems to fall down of the sky
because navegation, sidebar and footer don´t show words with accent (special characters) too.Have your plugin UTP-8 encoding?
How can I fix this problem?any ideas?

One question though. Is there any way at all to make this work for more than one Flickr account at a time? I co-administrate my blog, and my partner and I would BOTH like to share our Flickr photos via your plugin. Any thoughts??

however I do have a couple questions… and my knowledge of programing stuff is extremely limited….
when trying to add the random photo display on my sidebar.. it works fine.. however I would like to create a little space between the bottom photo and the next section.. how do i do that?
also.. I know this may not be your department but thought I would ask… how do I make the photos show up at dmlpro.net/photos with a link at the top of the main page… kinda like you have it setup here….

I must say this is a great plugin. I’ve seen many blog using this plugin and implemented very well. Well, I have a problem here on my site, it manage to show the main page, –> http://www.niceric.com/wp-content/plugins/falbum/wp/album.php . But when I click on the thumb, it shows nothing and come up a blank page.
Could you please tell me what’s wrong?

hello there. the installation and everything worked. i just do not get falbum to display an album. the cache is empty too. the write rights are on www server. do i have to change to ftp or has it nothing to do with it? thanks.

Just be sure to put your flickr account to use private setting, go into the option of the plugin and put ‘Show Private’ to ‘true’ and ‘View Private Level’ to the desired blog user level you want. I put it to ‘0′. The ‘Can Edit’ level remains at 10, so only site admin’s can really alter the galleries.

I just upgraded from 0.6.3 to 0.6.4. I switched off the plugin, deleted the previous FAlbum directory in my plugins folder, uploaded the new one and switched the new version of the plugin on, went to the options page, ‘FAlbum’ and now I get the ‘FAlbum Options Initial Setup Error’. That’s it. I’ve had to take my photos page on my blog offline because it’s obviously no longer working. Can someone please help? I’ve searched the forums and can’t find a fix. Thank you.

Workin great, except the album/photos are loading before my sidebar, placing the sidebar on the right instead of the left (my default). I’m using the plaintext template like yours, and would like to know your mods to incoporate falbum into your template while leaving the sidebar on the left. I’m no expert, and have failed time and again to get the same formatting as your site.

Still hoping someone somewhere can help me out with my question (above)… Still no luck… I even tried going back to the previous version of FAlbum, and even the one before… no can do… Is there some trace of FAlbum remaining in my WordPress files? I’m thinking if I can obliterate all evidence it was ever on my blog, I can do a completely brand new install, see if that helps… but how to do it? What files will have been affected?

There is a page the displays all the saved wordpress options (past & present) the url for which is http://you blog url]/wp-admin/options.php
In there you should be able to find the FAlbum options to allow you to delete the value. Not sure if this will help you or not but it might be worth a go.

GrinGod, thanks for responding, I appreciate it. I took your advice and had a look at what was listed in options.php. I deleted the values for anything connected to Flickr (no idea if it’s possible to wipe the lines as well as what’s in the boxes?). There were some previous values there. Once I’d got rid of them, I reinstalled the latest version of the FAlbum plugin… and, unfortunately, I get just the same error.
It just says ‘initial setup error’. This has only happened since I upgraded from 0.6.3, and I only upgraded because that version broke when I created a new set of photos in my Flickr pro account, bringing my total up to 9. Made me wonder if it didn’t like me having that many sets of photos available? Anyway, I also tried, after FAlbum refused to play nice, installing the new Flickr Photo Album plugin, and that won’t behave for me either - keeps giving an error on the Flickr side that the application hasn’t requested authorisation properly. I’ve been waiting a fair few days now for the plugin creator to respond via his Flickr forum, but am despairing of ever getting photos back on my blog! I can’t seem to find any Flickr plugin that is easy, or if not easy, works reliably! But again, thanks GrinGod for the suggestion. It was definitely worth trying!

I’m still new in blogging and php.
I own a WordPress blog in my own domain, I have downloaded your latest FAlbum above.
The problem is, I can’t transfer (install) “.project” file into wp-content in my web server.
Everytime I try to transfer (install) falbum into wp-content, I get error message“Warning: An error occurred copying some or all of the selected files”
After investigation, I found out that this error is related to “.project” file.
Could someone tell me what is this “.project” for?
Why I can’t copy the file into the directory?
What should I do now?

The .project file is not need byFAlbum to run. It is a file created/used by my IDE at development time and shouldn’t probably be included with the final install files.

i installed falbum 0.69 on the read me file.
http://www.maldivesonlineguide.com/gallery/ shows the thumbs. but when i click from there it doesnt go to other pages for individual pictures.please help.

Jeg havde dog en del problemer, da jeg – ligesom 15-20 personer på et forum jeg søgte hjælp på – ikke havde forstået, at man skulle oprette en tom side med titlen “Billeder”2, før skidtet virkede. Det var ikke nok blot at skrive linket i browseren, hvilket var det jeg prøvede de første par timer. Desuden ligner billedsiden stadig l*** og p**, men det må der rettes op på senere. En anden brugbar ting ved Flickr er adgangen til ubegrænse lagerplads for sølle $25 pr. år. Jeg har dags dato 14,3 GB billeder, og jeg er panisk angst for, at jeg på en eller anden måde mister dem, på trods af at jeg har backup både på en ekstern harddisk og på DVD’er. Med ubegrænset online lagerplads, er det problem løst (selvom uploadgrænsen på 2 GB betyder, at det kommer til at tage mig 8 måneder at uploade alle billederne ). For det tredje er der mulighed for at indstille graden af synlighed til privat, venner, familie eller offentlig – en funktion der er integreret i Wordpress (altså min hjemmeside). På den måde kan de folk der måtte (og må!) ønske det, oprette sig på min hjemmeside, og få adgang til at se mere private billeder (der er selvfølgelig altid en grænse, så forvent ikke ubegrænsede data til scor.dk eller lignende!). For det fjerde kan man bruge tags og en del andet lir – og den slags bifalder vi altid her på jonasherby.dk!
