the new wordpress beta uses a new rewrite scheme so the easiest way to get friendly urls to work, just open up the htaccess file and put everything in between # BEGIN FAlbum and # END FAlbum above # BEGIN WordPress. Works great!

I like your recent photos setup on the sidebar. I’m using flickrRSS plugin and it’s not nearly as nice as your implementation. How can I do this for my site? Thanks

FAlbum is such an amazing plugin! I have just a couple possibilities for a future release: It would be nice if the format of the picture descriptions could be kept as they appear on the Flickr webpage (e.g. very useful for poems, song lyrics, etc.) and perhaps a small guide in the Wiki about how to setup a sidebar like yours. Thanks for the great plugin!

I love this plugin! It’s the greatest ever! I have a few issues with my implementation though. Everything displays just fine in IE, but in Firefox everything seems to jump below my sidebar content. I’m using the greenmarinee theme for Wordpress, but everything seems to work fine in IE. Any ideas?

I’m attempting to get the FAlbum plugin running up on one of my sites but having a stupid animal trick problem (from the comments I see everyone else isn’t having the problem so it must be me… lol)
Everything uploads fine (using wordpress 1.5.2 and in the plugin area I see it… I active it and go to the options area to configure… select the “FAlbum” tab and my system just stares at me for 2 minutes (120 some seconds each time…) and gives me a screen (still in Wordpress) FAlbum Inital Stetup: Error.
I get all the way to your step:
5. Complete the two Initial Setup steps to allow FAlbum to access your
Flickr account
The options tab is pointing to:

I do have a directory in the plugins area called falbum where all the files are… including the falbum-plugin.php file.
Any ideas where I when wrong? I’m attempting to get Eceltric 1.2 theme running.

I am having the exact same problem as Tutor, except I don’t have the time delay before the options page appears. Have tried deleting/reloading/deactivating/etc …. nothing helps. Something wrong with today’s download file maybe?

Love this plug-in, it’s AWSOME!
But, it’s still not quite 1.0 material, I’ve had some issues.
in 0.5.5, recently any ways, when I uploaded pictures, only some of the pictures would show up. Others would have the place holder there, showing the Alt text instead of the pictures. I would have to delete that picture from Flickr, and re-upload it (replacing it wouldn’t fix it), and sometimes I would have to do this a several times before it would show up as a picture….
I was getting frustrated and checked to see if there was a newer version up, yep, there was, I was excited. I uploaded all the new files to the folder, replacing the old ones (all except the css.php file… So, i decided to upload a whole batch of pictures… I waited a few minutes, and cleared the cache, and went to check it out. The new photo set I made was up, with all the new pictures i put into it, but something was wrong. the Recent photos picture was still the same as before, but the ones I uploaded were the MOST recent i had shot, i even checked the dates on them, and in flickr. So, i went in to my recent pictures page, and none of my new pictures were to be found. No where, not even the place holders with the ALT text… I fiddled around, maybe it would take some time… Nope, but I also discovered, that any new tags I made didn’t show up either, and the pictures that used old tags, didn’t show up when I went to see all the pictures with that tag….
I’m not sure what the problem is, but maybe you have some insight…. I don’t want to go back to 0.5.5, but I think I might have to… I’ll let you know if I figure it out

Well, the MISSING pictures thing has NOTHING to do with FAlbum, I’m happy to report… I just did some more investigating, and Flickr is experiencing some problems with this, I’m guessing something to do with syncing servers, I’m not sure… But on my Flickr home page, all my pictures show up, but the tag groups haven’t updated to recognize new tags yet (taking a lot longer than usual). Also, I read some of the help forums on flickr, and decided to see what would happen if I made a flickr badge. As I suspected, if I select “most recent” it shows the same most recent pictures FAlbum does, and disregards the ones I JUST uploaded… don’t know what the problem is, all I can do is wait, and cross my fingers….

There was only one glitch with previous version (sidebar error) but now much more http://www.blognessie.com/index.php/flickralbum/ . Please help as I am not a coder and it looks like I just need to create tables, as blanks?

Hey! Love this plug-in. I use it on my baby’s site to share pictures with friends and family. But for some reasons lots of pictures won’t show. It seems to be getting worse the more photo’s I add to flickr.

Wow. What an amazing plug-in. I’ve been trying out tons of different photo galleries in hopes of integrating one into WordPress. Then I broke down and opened a Flickr account, since that seems to be the thing to do. Now I find this plug-in that solves the problem by using my Flickr account. Awesome work.
(FYI: It breaks on me if “friendly” URLs is set to “true.”) -

Hello.. Please help me out.. after installing falbum 0.5.6, i’m getting errors like
WordPress database error: [Table 'sonicwor_wordpress.wp_falbum_cache' doesn't exist]
The photos get showed up but only after displaying many errors like the above mentioned one..

Hi.. I myself found out the solution. The error was
WordPress database error: [Table ’sonicwor_wordpress.wp_falbum_cache’ doesn’t exist]So when I checked out the tables in my site, I found that i had a talbe named “falbum_cache” (maybe the older version used this naming scheme) and not “wp_falbum_cache”. So i made a new table with the name “wp_falbum_cache” with the same structure as that of the “falbum_cache” table that i already had.
Hope this would help somebody with the same problem..

I had FAlbum working great so far (with WP 1.5.2) but I’ve made some changes to the header file of my theme and noticed FAlbum pages refuse to update their own header to reflect these changes. I’ve not tried yet to completely uninstall/reinstall FAlbum, in case there’s a less drastic solution.

Am I correct that FALBUM’s friendly URL doesn’t work with wordpress 2.0? I had http://www.emmasnel.nl/fotos but after upgrading WP the friendly URLs don’t work any more. Any tips?

found the solution myself to fix the header issue : I had to edit falbum-wp.php in my theme’s folder and replace the entire section between and /wp-content/plugins/falbum/falbum.js”> with the corresponding part of my new header.php file.

The fix for the permalinks-not-working-in-2.0 issue seems to be as simple as editing the .htaccess file and moving all the Falbum part (between # BEGIN FAlbum and # END FAlbum) to the top of the file, above the WordPress part.

Hi G. Could you clearify what you needed to change so that the recent photos update? I seem to be having the same problem. I upload new photos to my Flickr account, they show up if I look them up through tags, but the latest image in the sidebar and recent images page don’t update. Could you please if it’s the changes in the Flickr API that are causing FAlbum not to update its Recent Photos (both in the sidebar and the Recent Photos page itself)? G and I seem to have the same problem…
I noticed that your own last picture was uploaded on Nov 18, so you would not see any changes. It seems like the changes might have taken place on Jan 09, 2006 as this is the first time that I noticed the bug.
If I use the Flickr Badge, the photos update normally. New photos also appear when I look them up through tags – even in the FAlbum.
It would be great if you could see what could be done. Thanks.

Same as Simonas here: only the Recent Pictures album doesn’t update correctly. The last picture it displays on my website was uploaded to flicker on Jan. 11.
As for the problem I mentioned before it is different: I was talking about changes I had made in the header.php file of my theme. These changes were not reflected in my Falbum pages because my falbum.php file didn’t call header.php. Rather, it had it’s own header description.

This looks great ! But Im having trouble. The link I added correctly opens a page with gallery thumbs, but when I click on them I get page not found.
an example link is :
http://www.multimedian.co.uk/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/falbum/falbum-wp.php?album=72157594146530226that is the 2nd gallery on the page.
looking in my site via ftp i note that the file “falbum-wp.php” does not exist ! I rechecked by download 6.5 again and unzipping and it isnt in there either.
What is wrong, should I have that file, please help.
